Drumline has given me a great community to be a part of. It has also taught me the skills to read music and play an instrument. Being a part of the team has given me friends and the sense of working towards a common goal. It made my transition into high school easier and holds a number of new exciting opportunities. I'm so thankful for the hardwork of my director, the staff, and my teammates!
Drumline has made me way better at sight reading and at reading rhythms. It has also given me lots of experience with leadership and with memorization as well as helping me stay in better shape physically. On a more personal note, our Drumline is like my family and it is such an amazing thing to get to see my family learn and grow while getting do such amazing things like going to Dayton. Being in this activity has been so beneficial for my mental and physical health and I could never have truly grown into who I am today without it.
Drumline has been a crucial part of my life these past few years. I have learned so many valuable life lessons outside of music. I am constantly challenging and pushing myself to new limits. The staff have always been incredibly supportive and loving towards each member of the group. Drumline has been the most crucial part of my upbringing into the world.
Drumline has been a very fun experience for me. Meeting everyone was amazing and joining drumline might be one of the best choices I've made in my life. Everyone is kind and supportive, and will help you when you need it. Drumline has made me want to become a musician and play multiple instruments when I'm older. Drumline is such a great experience.
There is no greater joy for a parent or grandparent than watching your child succeed at something they love. Watching a child who loves music be able to step out and explore and find their passion is priceless! Being a foster parent, we look for activities that will bring healing and help rebuild our children's lives, they come with unimaginable "baggage", and have a harder time finding themselves or where they fit in. At the drumline, there was immediate acceptance and enthusiasm. The kids commit, work hard, push themselves and support each other to learn, not because they have to but because they want to! Students learn responsibility not only for themselves but for the team and all of its parts. Most completely well rounded youth leadership program available!
There have been several positive life lessons I’ve learned since joining drumline this year. One of the most important takeaways was how to be part of a team and support each other, and how if even one person doesn’t give 100% the whole group is a little worse. Drumline has improved my posture which not only helped me with playing my instrument, but also in my daily life. Joining has given me a community to be a part of with others who have the same passion for music.
